Blackbird

This is my "pet" blackbird. My family and I helped raise it from birth and it has developed a kind of parental bond with us. For some reason it ONLY eats grapes and apparently can't get enough of them. Whenever it spots someone through the window it will immediately stop what it's doing, fly towards the window and land directly outside. It then stares in and chirps increasingly loudly, until a grape is provided. If anything other than a grape is offered, she'll ignore it and a torrent of angry quacking will ensue...
During the colder months she has been known to devour up to 24 grapes in a single day!! Filthy addict...
I find it amusing that she still exhibits this behaviour despite having been a fully-fledged adult for several years. Just sheer laziness! ....and intelligence...

She is now a grandmother and continues to enthusiastically beg, having taught her daughter to do exactly the same. I daresay the grandchild will follow suit... but I hope not; Grapes are expensive...

She is now dead. Unfortunately.  Eaten by a hawk.   Her daughter has also vanished. But the grandaughter is still around, as is her husband... and their son...... and his wife..... All of whom do the 'grape thing'...
